SATURDAY’s TopSpec veteran horse championship was won by the first and second in the 18 to 20-year-old class. These were the 18-year-old home-bred piebald Irish Sport Horse gelding Oreo Lad (Castleforbes Noe - Nearly A Princess, by Nearly A Nose), who claimed the title under Headfort’s Lynsey Rogers and the 20-year-old Sweetwell, winner also of the Derryglen Stud mares’ class under Fingal’s Mary Hagan. Westport’s Isobel Lee won the 21 and upwards class with her 2001 bay gelding Flin.

At the opposite end of the age spectrum, Anvil’s Aileen Dwyer topped the short line-up in the ARKequine four-year-old class on the ISH gelding Roscomroe de Semilly (Rock N Roll ter Putte - Woodview Douglas Cruise, by Ard VDL Douglas).
