Petit to run again
PETIT Mouchoir could run again this season following his fine third in the Champion Hurdle while Willie Mullins expressed himself pleased with both the efforts of Footpad and Wicklow Brave.
Yanworth fails
AFTER the Champion Hurdle, Mark Walsh reported that the unplaced favourite Yanworth was unsuited by the slow early pace.
Newman ban
AMATEUR Joshua Newman was given a five-day after the National Hunt Chase where he switched his mount right shortly after the third last which led to Arbre De Vie and Katie Walsh clipping heels and parting company.
Tower lame
MARTELLO Tower was reported to be lame behind after pulling up in the National Hunt Chase.
Edwulf recovers
EDWULF was pulled up in the J T McNamara National Hunt Challenge Cup by but was reported to be “absolutely fine’’, after a visit to the equine hospital, by his trainer Joseph O’Brien.
Injury update
NEWS of Willy Twiston-Davies, following his fall on Foxtail Hill in the Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap Chase, is that he fractured two vertebrae and sustained cracked ribs.
Tuesday’s figures
THE opering day’s attendance was slightly down on last year, 66,019 compared to 67,700.
